Canada defeated Israel 4-0 in the opening game of the senior division at the second World Jewish Ice Hockey Championships that opened Sunday, July 5 at the Canada Center in Metulla, Israel.
In the second game, the USA clobbered the rookie Russian team 16-0, in Russia’s first appearance at the tournament.
The junior tournament begins Monday with the two Canadian junior teams seeing action. The Canadian Red squad faces off against Israel’s junior team in an afternoon game, followed by the Canadian White team playing the junior American Jewish all-stars.

The tournament continues through Wednesday, July 15 when the gold medal games are scheduled to take place.
