Strikes, spares and misses – it’s bowling time in the Holy Land! For sure there are the traditional sports of soccer, basketball, team handball (a very European sport almost unknown in Canada), volleyball and the like in Israel. I’ve also written here about the sports you don’t expect in the Middle East: baseball, tackle football, hockey and figure skating. But now, it’s time for another sport I’ll bet you didn’t know existed in Israel: 10-pin bowling!
There are a couple of dozen bowling alleys throughout Israel complete with computerized scoreboards, bowling leagues, and even a national bowling association with Israeli national teams.
I was given the great honour to post Canada’s Israel’s FIRST ever original video to YouTube!
Today I’m going to take you on a short video tour of one of the Jerusalem bowling alleys and you’ll see for yourselves that Israelis take to the lanes and love it!
