Canada’s revered Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) is Israel bound.

In celebration of the famed ballet company’s 70th anniversary, the troupe is embarking on an international tour which includes feature shows in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa this coming October.

Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger will be in attendance to see the RWB in Israel as part of a broader mission to the Holy Land.

This is the first time the RWB has been to Israel since 1975.

“We are thrilled to bring our energy and style overseas and to once again perform in Israel, after being away for three decades,” artistic director Andre Lewis said in a release.

“This tour is very much a platform to enhance and reinvigorate our reputation internationally. We embrace our role as ambassadors for Manitoba and Canada.”
